of late ,i have been in a rather frame of mind siting in my courtyard enjoying the cool evening, i suddenly thought of the lotus pond that i pass on my way day in and day out tonight , it must have a charm of its own, bathed in the light of the full moon the moon was now rising slowly beyond the wall, the happy laughter of children on the road had died away, so putting on my coat quietly, i went out closing the door softly behind me译文：这几天心里颇不宁静。今晚在院子里坐着乘凉，忽然想起绦绦走过的荷塘，在这瞒月的光里，总该另有一番样子吧。月亮渐渐地升高了，墙外马路上的孩子们的欢笑，已经听不见了。我悄悄地披了大衫，带上门出去。
